Parlatino Venezuela demanded investigation attack on Cuban embassy

Caracas, Sep 27 (Prensa Latina) The president of the Venezuelan Parliamentary Group before the Latin American and Caribbean Parliament (Parlatino), Ángel Rodríguez, demanded that the United States Government investigate the attack with Molotov cocktails against the Cuban embassy in Washington.

In a press release circulating in Caracas, the legislator stated that he agrees with the Government of the island that what happened qualifies as a terrorist act and should not go unpunished, despite not regretting loss of life.

Anti-Cuban groups or groups of any kind cannot be allowed to attack the diplomatic headquarters of the Caribbean country and the facts are not investigated, since “it would set a precedent of impunity that would allow more events of this type to occur,” said the Parlatino legislator. .

He recalled that in 2020 a similar event occurred, when an individual shot at the diplomatic mission with an assault rifle.

Rodríguez pointed out that Cuba repeatedly denounced the US Government to prevent this type of events from continuing to occur and, however, it did not achieve “conclusive results in the face of these unfortunate threats.”

Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez revealed that an individual threw two Molotov cocktails at the diplomatic headquarters in Havana on Sunday night, without causing damage.

He denounced that anti-Cuban groups turn to terrorism “out of a sense of impunity, something about which Cuba has repeatedly alerted US authorities.”
