This follows the announcement of the Warsaw government spokesman, Piotr Muller, about a possible introduction of restrictive actions in its border area with Germany. As Faeser told the press, the Federal Police will now take additional and flexible control measures on the migrant smuggling routes and, at the same time, will try to ensure that they affect people and the economy as little as possible.
She also stated that the Ministry of the Interior is in contact with neighboring countries and with the federal states of Saxony and Brandenburg.
The Minister did not rule out the subsequent tightening of these provisions because, in her opinion, in order to keep the internal borders between the territories of the European Union open, they need a more effective control of the external borders of the bloc.
