At the opening of its 10th Congress, which is being held at Havana’s International Conference Center, National Coordinator Gerardo Hernández stressed that the CDRs are working to improve the work of the Cuban Revolution, with its spirit of combativeness and resistance.

Fidel (Castro) designed the CDRs to be a useful and necessary organization in all stages of the Revolution, capable of assuming new tasks and contributing to Cuba’s defense, Gerardo Hernández (Hero of the Republic of Cuba) stressed.

He recalled that the country is going through a complex situation, marked by the consequences of devastating natural phenomena, the Covid-19 pandemic and the intensification of the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States on Cuba

He explained that the mass organization is working on a process of revitalization and strengthening, which includes the change of the age of membership, modifications in the neighborhood structures and awarding the status of neighborhood’s youth to those who stand out in the work in their communities.
