Cuban Parliament president to lead delegation to legislative event

Moscow, Sep 27 (Prensa Latina) Esteban Lazo, President of the National People's Power Assembly of Cuba(ANPP), will lead his country's delegation to the Russia-Latin America International Parliamentary Conference, Prensa Latina informed on Wednesday.

The meeting will be held at the State Duma (Lower House of Parliament) in Moscow on the 1st and 2nd of October.

Fair and mutually beneficial economic cooperation and the development of humanitarian relations between Russia and Latin America will be some of the issues to be addressed in the conference..

The role of parliamentary diplomacy in a just multipolar world and the legislators’ position in collective security will also be discussed.

The head of the Cuban delegation will address the delegates during the Conference’s plenary session and meet with Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matviyenko and State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin.

Lazo’s other activities include the laying of wreaths at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and at the Monument in Moscow to Commander-in-Chief, Fidel Castro.
