US citizens: attack on Cuban embassy in the US is unacceptable (+Photos)

Washington, Sep 26 (Prensa Latina) The terrorist attack against the Cuban embassy in the United States is an example of hatred instead of accepting love, said Dr. Samira Addrey, who described the event as unacceptable.

Addrey is a graduate of the Latin American School of Medicine in Havana, and felt it was necessary to respond to the call from the National Network of Solidarity with Cuba, which convened to a rally next to the Cuban embassy on Monday to repudiate the incident. In statements to Prensa Latina, the doctor requested that justice be done and everything related to the terrorist attack that occurred on the night of September 24th be clarified. “The people of the United States are very against the policy of the blockade against the people of Cuba. All peoples have the right to determine their own destiny,” she said.

Calla Walsh, co-president of the National Network of Solidarity with Cuba, stated that she lives in the Adams Morgan neighborhood, where the embassy is located, and the community rejects the attacks. “The American people do not tolerate these acts of intimidation and violence against Cuba,” she said and demanded that the “United States Government condemn this attack and investigate it as the terrorist act that it is.”

Brian Becker, from the ANSWER coalition, also commented to the Prensa Latina agency that “this is not an isolated incident because there have been more than 60 years of terrorist actions against the Cuban Government, its diplomatic compounds, against Cuban officials,” all of which the American people oppose.

Around a hundred representatives of political, pacifist, and solidarity organizations rallied in front of the Cuban embassy in Washington DC despite the rain.

Cuba has received countless expressions of support both in the United States and abroad since it became known that an individual threw two Molotov cocktails at the Cuban embassy on the night of September 24th.

The head of the Cuban embassy in the United States, Lianys Torres, wrote on social networks that the authorities were immediately notified and that they were given access to the headquarters “to take samples of the Molotov cocktails.”
