International committee demands justice in terrorism against Cuba

Madrid, Sep 26 (Prensa Latina) The International Committee for Peace, Justice and Dignity to the People demanded justice from the United States government in the terrorist act on Sunday using incendiary devices against the Cuban embassy in Washington.

The group issued a statement questioning “where is the protection of diplomatic headquarters established by the Vienna Convention which the United States government is obliged to comply with?”

This is the second time that this embassy, located less than ten blocks from the White House, suffers a terrorist attack. The previous one was in the early morning of April 31st, 2020, when an individual armed with an assault rifle opened fire against it, the Committee recalls in its statement, published on the Cubainformacion.com website.

It also criticizes that the US government “is the same one that included Cuba in the unilateral and spurious List of States Sponsors of Terrorism, displaying its double standards,” and states that in reality, Cuba has been the victim of terrorism conceived and executed by the United States since the beginning of its revolutionary process in 1959.

There have been “hundreds of bomb attacks on its facilities, introduction of dengue hemorrhagic fever, violation of its coasts and airspace, hijacking of vessels, an explosion mid-flight aboard a Cubana de Aviación passenger airplane, over 600 assassination attempts on Fidel Castro.”

The Committee emphasizes in its statement that over six decades these terrorist attacks have caused 3,478 deaths and 2,099 injuries; “one in every 1,972 Cubans has been a victim of terrorism that is created with total impunity in the United States, (in Miami)”.

It also demands that President Joe Biden’s administration “end impunity for terrorism, expressions of criminal anti-Cuban hatred broadcast by media outlets in Florida and immediately remove Cuba from the List of State Sponsors of Terrorism.”
