On his account on X, formerly Twitter, Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez posted a video of approximately one minute accompanied by the following message: “Moment when the terrorist arrives in front of the Cuban Embassy in USA, ignites the Molotov cocktails and throws them at the façade of the Embassy.”
Rodriguez added that “the material was delivered to US authorities” and pointed out that it is an “original camera video from the Cuban diplomatic mission in Washington.”
The terrorist action generated an immediate rejection both outside and inside the United States, where representatives of political, pacifist and solidarity organizations gathered on Monday in front of the Cuban Embassy, on 16th Street, a few blocks from the White House. Despite the persisting rain on the day of condemnation of this new attack, some 100 friends chanted “Let Cuba live” and called for an end to the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the US Government on Cuba.
One of the speakers was activist and political leader Gloria La Riva, who recalled that Washington has systematically practiced terrorism against Cuba since the beginning of the Revolution.
She added that throughout these years, Cuba has been a victim of mercenary invasions, bombs on airplanes, biological warfare and many other attacks on the Cuban people.
The head of the Cuban Mission in the United States, Lianys Torres, wrote on her X account on Monday that local authorities were notified immediately about the terrorist attack that occurred on the night of September 24 and they were given access to the Embassy to take “samples of the Molotov cocktails.”
