In a statement, the group, made up of graduates from the Latin American School of Medicine and volunteers who take care of poor neighborhoods, described the attack on the diplomatic mission in Washington, perpetrated by an individual who threw two Molotov cocktails, as cowardly.

The group charged that the attack was carried out in the eyes of the US Government and with total impunity. All our solidarity with the brotherly Cuban people. The new aggression against the physical integrity of the Embassy seeks to intimidate the solidarity groups that during President Miguel Díaz-Canel’s visit to the United States demonstrated their support in the streets and demanded the end of the economic, commercial and financial blockade of Cuba, the text noted.

The only objective is to intimidate and divert the attention of the media to a situation of extreme violence. Evidently, Cuba’s public exposure at the international level, its achievements at the G77+China Summit and the firm denunciation of the genocidal and illegal blockade by the heads of State at the United Nations General Assembly, hit the imperialist ego, the organization stressed.
