Body: The sugarcane milling planned to begin on December 22 by the Jesús Rabí sugar mill, aspires to produce in Matanzas about 35 thousand tons of sugar, mostly destined to guarantee the regulated basic basket, a vital aspect for the national economy in order to to supply the demand for the product in Cuba.
According to the site www.radio26, the Mario Muñoz sugar factory will take over the production of raw and fine sugar while its counterpart René Fraga will be in charge of the molasses as a cane derivative.
Currently, the three factories are supervising the repairs carried out in recent months and visiting the areas in order to declare them ready for the upcoming harvest, explained the director of the Azcuba Sugar Group in Matanzas, Orlando Vandrell.
There is constant monitoring of the planting programs with the purpose of complying with the established schedules with the objective of achieving a contest as estimated, Vandrell said.
He points out on the website that along with the preparations for the next harvest, the sugar sector is carrying out the contracting process for agricultural production in 2024, which represents the contribution of the base structure to the food program in each territory.
