In a statement, the Cuban diplomats demanded that US authorities bring to justice the person responsible for the attack, who threw two Molotov cocktails at the diplomatic building, as denounced by Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez.
“This fact demonstrates the absolute impunity with which elements act contrary to the path of love and peace promoted in the world by the Government and the people” of Cuba, the text stressed. He recalled that in April 2020, an individual opened fire at the Embassy in Washington DC, causing material damage.
On Sunday, on his account on X, the head of Cuban diplomacy informed that as a result of the attack on Sunday night, no damage was caused to the Embassy’s staff.
According to official statistics, at least 581 acts of State terrorism have been perpetrated against Cuban diplomatic representations since the triumph of the Revolution in January 1959.
