Attack against Cuban embassy in the US condemned in Nicaragua

Managua, Sep 25 (Prensa Latina) The Association of Cuban Residents in Nicaragua today condemned the terrorist attack perpetrated on Sunday against the island's embassy in the United States.

Body: Through a statement, to which Prensa Latina had access, the association called on the United States Government, headed by President Joe Biden, to play its role in this case.

“The victory of the visit of our president (Miguel Díaz-Canel) to the UN, the demands of the world against the blockade and for excluding Cuba from the list of countries that sponsor terrorism, in addition to the excellent summit in Havana of the Group of the 77 and China, unleashed hatred for the defeat,” the writing highlights.

Along these lines, the Nicaraguan Anti-Imperialist Network of Solidarity with the Peoples Augusto César Sandino expressed, in another document, its support for the Caribbean nation and stated that “the anti-Cuban hordes react to the victories of the people in the international arena with the only thing they know. do: terrorism.” The Network, made up of more than 15 solidarity organizations, highlighted the resistance of Cubans to imperialist actions, while ensuring that the largest of the Antilles is not alone and will never be defeated.

“We demand that the North American authorities investigate this attack and punish the guilty as a civilized nation should do,” he stressed.

According to the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the aforementioned terrorist attack occurred during the night of Sunday, September 24, when an individual threw two Molotov cocktails from the sidewalk over the perimeter fence of the diplomatic headquarters in Havana in Washington.

This is the second violent action against the Cuban diplomatic mission in the United States since April 2020, the date on which another individual fired a burst of 30 rounds with an assault rifle.

Official data show that, since the triumph of the Cuban Revolution in January 1959, at least 581 acts of state terrorism have occurred against diplomatic representations of the Caribbean country.
