The system reportedly has maximum sustained winds of about 36 kilometers per hour and a minimum central pressure of one thousand seven hectoPascals.
There is consensus among current models that the system is likely to move westward over the next few days as it approaches the eastern Caribbean.
On its current track, it is expected to pass north of Barbados early to mid next week.
