The INE ordered him to place a message before the beginning of the morning press conferences mentioning the prohibitions, according to them established in Article 134 of the Constitution for public servants, and interpreted at their own discretion in favor of those who are accused in the program, always with abundant evidence.

This institute, an open adversary of the government and whose counselors are mostly from the opposition parties, intends to place a political gag on the president, for which López Obrador asked them, then, where is freedom of expression for INE?

To the “sanction” the federal president responded that he will comply with the order, but making use of his right of reply he said that he will put another one under the curtain ordered by INE, as part of a precautionary measure in which the limits of public officials are established.

The INE’s textually states: “The purpose of the morning press conferences of the President of the Republic is to disseminate institutional or governmental propaganda with informative, educational or social orientation purposes, therefore, no statements related to political or electoral topics that unduly affect the fairness of the electoral contests and influence the citizenship may be made”.

“Likewise, no manifestations or expressions in favor or against political forces or persons identified with them may be made”.
