Indian space agency unable to contact rover on Moon

New Delhi, Sep 22 (Prensa Latina) The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) has been unable to contact the rover and lander of the Chandrayaan-3 lunar mission, which was scheduled to be activated on Friday.

Efforts have been made to establish communication with the Vikram lander and Pragyan rover so as to determine their activation condition. So far, no signals have been received from them, ISRO stated on social media platform X.

The Space Agency of India added that efforts to establish contact will continue.

Earlier this month, the two teams suspended their research on the lunar surface until the natural satellite’s south pole sunrise this Friday.

The suspension came after the rover completed all its tasks, ISRO published at the time.

Pragyan has traversed more than 100 meters since it touched down at the Moon’s south pole on August 23.
