During the traditional Friday sermon, the leader of the Lebanese Islamic Resistance reiterated the movement’s commitment to negotiate “because it is the only way to reach an agreement about the presidency of the Republic”.
Damoush pointed out that the country’s interest requires a national understanding to resolve the power vacuum stage without waiting for help from abroad.
The authority stressed that those who hinder the possibility of electing the next head of State are those who reject dialogue and hide behind positions that complicate the crisis and do not lead to a solution.
Since October 31, 2022, Lebanon has been facing the obstacles of the fourth stage of presidential vacancy after independence, in the absence of political consensus, amid the worst crisis of its modern era, and under an interim government with limited constitutional powers.
