The architectural work will remember four million slaves of the former French colonies and generally all the victims who suffered that condition in the world, as underlined by the
the French Ministry of the Overseas, which is working together with the Mayor’s Office of Paris.
The next step will be the launching of a bidding process to attribute the design of the monument to artists and landscape designers.
The tribute is expected to reflect the names of 200,000 slaves freed in 1848 in Guadeloupe, Martinique, French Guyana and the island of La Reunion.
