Cuban Ambassador Andres Marcelo Gonzalez attended as a guest in the meeting of the highest board of directors of the solidarity group headed by its president Susil Premajayantha, member of the Sri Lankan Parliament and Minister of Education.
The members of the Executive Committee of the Association -leaders of political parties and trade union and social organizations- agreed upon the significance of further deepening friendly relations with Cuba.
After thanking for the invitation, the Cuban diplomat heaped praise on Cuba-Sri Lanka bilateral relations.
He also highlighted support and solidarity of the Asian nation to Cuba since the Triumph of the Revolution in 1959.
Recently, on the occasion of the G77+China Summit held in Havana, Presidents Miguel Diaz-Canel and Ranil Wickremesinghe confirmed the good state of bilateral relations between the two nations.
