The consultations with officials of the State Atomic Energy Corporation (ROSATOM) began in this capital, where they would facilitate the transfer of knowledge, experience, and technology as a basis towards a national nuclear energy program, Desta Abera, director of the Office of that activity in the Ministry, noted.
Abera pointed out that safety and respect for the environment are priorities in bilateral cooperation.
The two-day consultation forum is designed for a broad and in-depth transfer of knowledge and technology by Russian officials, and in addition to boosting Ethiopia’s economy, it will further strengthen relations.
The actions are in response to a roadmap for cooperation between the two countries in the peaceful use of atomic energy during the 2nd Russia-Africa Economic and Humanitarian Forum held in St. Petersburg in July.
