The young artist, accompanied by guitarist Eduardo Corcho, will also participate in lectures on the role of culture and youth in the face of the current challenges in Cuba, according to the information given by the José Martí Association of Friendship with Cuba based in Valencia, and organizer of the tour.
Garcés, who is a lawmaker in the Cuban Parliament, and Corcho will also be giving concerts in three other Valencian cities: Buñol on Saturday, September 23, Alicante on Sunday, September 24, and Alfas del Pi on Tuesday, September 26.
Garcés’ stay in Spain will end in Madrid, in the context of an evening of Cuban troubadours at the Rincón Cubano, during the Festival of the Communist Party of Spain in Rivas Vaciamadrid on Saturday, September 30.
Known as the Workers World Festival, the popular event, attended by thousands of people from Spain’s left and progressive forces, will be held from Friday, September 29 to Sunday, October 1.
The José Martí Association of Friendship with Cuba in Valencia invited Garcés and Corcho as part of the cultural activities between the Cuban and Valencian peoples and as part of the actions to sensitize the Spanish public to the Cuban reality.
