In this regard, Beijing “is ready to work with all parties to promote the solid and steady progress of the Global Development Initiative (GDI),” he added.

The vice president’s statements came during the high-level meeting on the GDI Cooperation Results, organized by China on the sidelines of the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly.

Han recalled that the main purpose of this initiative, proposed by Chinese President Xi Jinping, and the main objective of the UN is that no country or person is left behind on the road to development.

According to the Vice President, more than 70 countries joined the GDI and nearly 200 cooperation projects were included as part of it.

He also noted that the Chinese side established a special fund of 10 billion dollars in order to implement the initiative.

Han called for genuine multilateralism, urged to put development issues at the center of the international agenda and promote the representation of the developing countries in global governance.
