According to reports released by SANA news agency, Cuban Deputy Prime Minister Ricardo Cabrisas received the Syrian Minister, with whom he reviewed the ways to improve cooperation in the fields of politics, economy, commerce, culture, science and agriculture.
Yaghi expressed the willingness of the Syrian government to promote bilateral ties, especially in the fields of science, universities, scientific research institutes and the exchange of undergraduate and graduate scholarships. He also said that Damascus is very interested in strengthening exchange with Cuba regarding medicines and vaccines, and signing agreements which will help tackle the unjust and illegal sanctions and the blockade imposed by the United States on the two nations.
The Minister of Public Health, José Ángel Portal, has analyzed with the Syrian Minister the ways to enhance bilateral cooperation in the field of health, and expressed Cuba’s full willingness to promote cooperative relations with Syria in a way of achieving mutual benefit, and meets Syrian medical and pharmaceutical needs, including vaccines produced by Cuba.
The Syrian delegation held meetings with several Cuban ministers, including the ministers of Defense, Industry and Telecommunications, and the deputy ministers of Industry and Foreign Affairs. During the meetings, the parties ratified their mutual support and full willingness to continue working in strengthening bilateral cooperation and follow up on bilateral agreements.
The two sides stressed the importance of taking advantage of historical relations to raise the level of collaboration in all spheres, and agreed to follow up on cooperation issues and study the signing of new agreements to expand the perspectives of bilateral collaboration.
