During a meeting at the United Nations (UN) headquarters with the highest authorities of the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) on Monday, Castro presented, among the Executive’s achievements, the signing of a memorandum with the United Nations to set up the Anti-Corruption Commission.
The head of State highlighted other significant progress for the country, such as establishing the Secretariat of Transparency and Fight against Corruption, eliminating trusts harmful to the State, and returning to a single treasury.
She also eliminated programs and institutions that duplicate duties and annulled the reforms of the Penal Code and the Money Laundering Law.
The first female president of Honduras is in New York since Sunday to participate in the High-Level Segment of the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly, where she will speak on Wednesday.
