The information was posted by the military high command on Social Media X, in which he explained that the Third Court of Control claimed the request admissible and authorized the FANB to deploy Operation Autana 2023.
Hernandez added that the 87th National Prosecutor’s Office further requested the authorization to the Strategic Operational Command of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces “the practice of the immediate detention of persons” who are identified by aliases.
These, the official said, are “alleged negative leaders” that control all the mining activity in Yapacana National Park.
Hernandez pointed out they will be able to place these people “at the order and disposition” of the corresponding court.
Last week, the FANB cleared the events that took place in the state of Amazonas, center-south of Venezuela, where a clash with illegal miners caused two deaths and six injured.
In a communiqué, the Armed Forces noted the incidents occurred in the context of Operation Autana 2023, which has been carried out for months in the aforementioned territory.
