The gala concert will feature performances by the Camagüey Folkloric Ballet and Bertha Armiñán Linares, to whom this eleventh edition was dedicated in the representation of Cuban and Caribbean women, key to understanding the cultural processes and the African diaspora itself. In the morning, Ignacio Agramonte Park will host the show Ciudad Rumba Olorum, with the presentation of Oyú Oro experimental dance company from Santiago de Cuba.
Then, another space located in the Historic Center of the city, recognized by Unesco for its architectural values, the Plaza del Gallo, will host the Caribbean Dance Theater, also from Santiago. Another of the prestigious companies that animate the event is the National Folkloric Ensemble, which has been in various spaces of the city with its closure presentations at the Paseo Ferroviario, right next to the Plaza Hotel, emblematic installation of the former Villa del Puerto del Príncipe.
Olorum 2023 has been an extensive artistic journey that has included workshops, lectures and performances in theaters, schools and streets of the city of Camagüey, as a tribute to the most autochthonous of the national culture, forged with the African and Caribbean essence.
