Cultural Days of Mexico in Cuba ends in a big way (+Photo)

Matanzas, Cuba, Sep 17 ( Prensa Latina) The 40th edition of the Cultural Days of Mexico in Cuba ended in a big way, an event held in Plaza La Vigía of this city, to commemorate the 213th anniversary of the independence of that nation.

The site where the founding document of this city, which is about to turn 330 years old, was the venue for the tribute to the so-called Grito de Dolores, the event that started the struggle for Mexico’s sovereignty on September 16, 1810, when the priest Miguel Hidalgo called for the defeat of Spanish colonialism.

The day before, in the Art Gallery of this place, the groups Coyotes, Mariachis de Atenas and the project Voces de la Academia Nacional de Canto Mariana de Gonich, directed by Maestro Hugo Oslé, offered a musical show for the delight of the audience.

During the celebration, it was reported that Los Coyotes is in eighth place among 500 groups in the world devoted to cultivating the Mariachi repertoire, according to studies conducted by a Mexican cultural center that values the work of these groups at an international level.

In the concert, the singers of Los Coyotes and Voces joined in the interpretation of emblematic themes of the Mexican culture, of the authorship of Vicente Fernández, Roberto Cantoral, Marco Antonio Solís, as well as works sung by famous contemporary artists such as Juan Gabriel, José José and Ana Gabriel.
