According to the Lebanese Army, those arrested were involved in drug trafficking, robbery and smuggling, as well as for driving cars and motorcycles with no driving licences.
As part of the security measures adopted in several areas of the country, during the operations the military units seized 99 military weapons of various types, 6 grenades, quantities of light and medium ammunition, a number of vehicles and motorcycles, in addition to a quantity of drugs and various materials intended for smuggling, and a number of communications devices.
The detainees were handed over, together with the seized items to the competent authorities for the pertinent proceedings, the Army indicated.
