In detailed reports, television channels such as the state-owned Rupavahini and Nethra highlighted the official reception given to the Sri Lankan President in the Cuban capital and the talks between the heads of State.

They broadcast Wickremesinghe’s statements at the end of the meeting with Díaz Canel, when the Sri Lankan President confirmed the desire of both governments to further strengthen bilateral ties.

During the meeting, the good state of relations between the two countries and the bonds of friendship that unite both peoples were confirmed, Sri Lankan President stated.

Wickremesinghe ratified the mutual support that exists between the two States and affirmed that areas of future cooperation were identified, including public health care, agriculture and sports.

Likewise, Wickremesinghe said that his Cuban counterpart accepted an invitation to visit Sri Lanka in 2024. jg/abo/lam/lrd
