According to the text, the importance of the meeting lies in the fact that it is taking place in Cuba after more than six decades of brutal blockade and the continuation of harsh U.S. sanctions.
The Congress pointed out that the participation of more than 100 countries represents a resounding triumph for Cuba at the diplomatic and political level, especially after the failed attempts to overthrow the revolution.
At the same time, it highlighted the attendance of the United Nations Secretary General, António Guterres, which constitutes an important element to break the diplomatic siege.
