According to Sputnik, the aircraft tested the launch of cruise missiles previously not used on it; the weapon launched, successfully hit a Ukrainian military facility.
The information states that both the Su-34 and the missile in question are not new, but it is the first time they were used together.
The Fighterbomber Telegram channel stated previously that the Su-34 bomber also began carrying FAB-1500 freefall bombs outfitted with the UMPK module, which turns them into guided munitions.
The UMPK module has an automatic guidance system and was previously used on the 250 and 500 kilogram bombs employed in the Ukrainian conflict.
The Su-34 is designed to attack land, sea and air targets in any weather conditions and has a combat payload of up to eight tons.
