At the meeting, held at Havana’s International Conference Center, the senior officials discussed the issues addressed by the president in the plenary session of the meeting, which will be held until Saturday.
Maduro requested the support from the UN chief to denounce the financial persecution, pressure and imposition of unilateral coercive measures against the Bolivarian Republic.
He called for joining these efforts to raise our voices against this systematic policy that seeks to seize the natural resources of free and sovereign countries.
In his speech before delegates from more than 100 countries, the Bolivarian President pointed out that today we advocate very strongly the lifting of the United States’ criminal blockade against Cuba for more than 60 years.
He noted that over the past six years, the Bolivarian Republic has been a victim of more than 950 unilateral coercive measures in all ranges of the economy and society.
Enough of the persecution against the peoples of the world who want their independence and build their own models, Maduro noted, and called for the G77+China to raise their voices more strongly, “much more must be done.” he emphasized.
The Venezuelan head of State called on the G77+China to become a powerful global initiative within the United Nations to end unilateral coercive measures against the people of the world.
He recalled that it was thanks to the support and solidarity of China, India, Cuba, Türkiye and Russia that Venezuela was able to access medicines, antivirals and vaccines during the most difficult times during Covid-19 pandemic.
