Nicaragua praises Cuba’s resistance to U.S. blockade

Havana, Sep 15 (Prensa Latina) Nicaraguan President Daniel Ortega on Friday praised Cuba's resistance to the hostile and unjust economic, commercial and financial U.S. blockade imposed on for over 60 years.

At the Summit – held at the Havana International Conference Center (HICC) – the Nicaraguan leader stated the United States’ clear goal is to destroy Cuba’s socialist model.

President Ortega alluded to U.S. President Joe Biden’s decision on Wednesday who renewed the known Trading with the Enemy Act, extended one more year.

The head of State recalled the thought of the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution Fidel Castro who taught that the way is to resist amid difficult conditions.

“Thus, amid resistance (…) Cubans are establishing initiatives so that with their own forces and with the solidarity of sister nations they can carry on their battle. Cuba’s battle is our battle,” Ortega assured.
