The meeting was held in the context of the G77+China which opened on Friday at the Havana International Conference Center (HICC), Cuba´s Public Health Ministry (MINSAP) reported.
Minister Portal pointed out the health collaboration between the two countries dates back to 2003, when the two ministries signed a Medical Cooperation Agreement.
This document supported, among other actions, the encouragement of pharmaceutical exports between the two countries and the training of Syrian health personnel in Cuba.
So far, 119 Syrian professionals have graduated in Cuba in different health specialties, and 51 students are currently being trained, both at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, the minister pointed out.
