According to reports from the United Nations Integrated Transition Assistance Mission in Sudan (UNITAMS), the deaths occurred as a result of attacks by the so-called Rapid Support Forces (RSF).
The organization specified that all the facts are documented and, if confirmed, could be classified as war crimes.
The United Nations recently called for an investigation into the killing of 87 civilians in Sudan, following the discovery of a mass grave in West Darfur.
Last June, the situation in the town of El Geneina, in the Darfur region, was described as catastrophic, and its victims are still unknown due to the magnitude of the massacre perpetrated by the RSF and its allied militias, in the midst of a hate speech against the Masalit community, which turned into a real humanitarian tragedy.
The clashes in Sudan broke out last April 15 due to contradictions in the midst of a process of integration of the Rapid Support Forces, led by Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo, vice-president of the Sovereign Transitional Council (CST), into the Armed Forces, and the head of the Army and president of the CST, Abdelfatá al Burhan.
Both holding the rank of general, they are vying for control of the country after the 2019 overthrow of President Omar al-Bashir.
