This time, the meeting with Miguel Angel Muñoz, director of the folkloric dance group “La Chancla” from Oaxaca, Mexico, allowed us to know more about the perception of this event from the visitors’ viewpoint.

This is the third time in Cuba; we were in Havana at the Fragmented Memory meeting, doing more of a theoretical work, and this is the first time we are in Camagüey with a practical artistic work, so we are happy, Muñoz said.

For La Chancla, the participation, according to Muñoz, is very important because “we had the information that this event with years seeks to promote dance and folkloric issues.”

The artist argued to hold an event focusing on Latin American and Caribbean roots and traditions.
