Vietnamese National Assembly General Secretary Bui Van Cuong emphasized that this important multilateral parliamentary diplomacy event in Vietnam will mark the 8th anniversary of the Hanoi Declaration on Sustainable Development Goals that was adopted by the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU).

The meeting will help promote Vietnam’s interests through parliamentary channels and youth participation in politics and socio-economic development in the context of digital transformation, innovation, and sustainable progress, which are common trends in the world and enjoy top priority in the country, Cuong said.

The role of young parliamentarians began to gain strength ten years ago with the setting up of an IPU forum to enhance their participation in the legislative arena.
