MINREX: Namibian VP Nangolo Mbumba to attend G77+China Summit

Havana, Sep 13 (Prensa Latina) Namibia´s Vice President Nangolo Mbumba on Wednesday confirmed his attendance to the G77+China Summit to be held from September 15-16, at the Havana International Conference Center (HICC), Cuba, the Cuban Foreign Ministry (MINREX) informed.

According to MINREX, the Summit will be the perfect setting to strengthen the unity of its member states.

On Wednesday, Seychelles President Wavel Ramkalawan and Li Xi, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, who will be the special representative of President Xi Jinping, were also confirmed to attend the event.

Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez recently told the press that over 90 member states have already registered to take the floor at the Summit, a demonstration of interest in the event that focuses on current challenges of development: the role of science, technology and innovation.

Rodriguez explained the Summit seeks to discuss major challenges and core issues of the nations of the South.

It will be a broadly participatory event, with the attendance of high-level delegations that will be received with the greatest hospitality by the Cuban people, he added.
