Mekonnen will head the Ethiopian delegation to the Summit, the Cuban Embassy confirmed on its account on X, formerly Twitter.

Cuba will chair the G77+China Summit and from that position it has invited the members of the organization to hold talks in Havana on the theme “Current Challenges of Development: Role of Science, Technology and Innovation.”
Delegations from more than 100 nations are expected to participate.
According to the program, after the opening ceremony chaired by President Miguel Diaz-Canel, United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres will also deliver a speech and the general debate will continue.
