The Cuban permanent representative, speaking at the 54th regular session of the Council, scheduled to be held in this Swiss city from September 11 to October 13, also denounced the prevailing deformed financial architecture and the irrational patterns of production and consumption of capitalism.
“Numerous reports by the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and the World Food Program (WFP) show that the world produces enough food to feed the world’s population, but its wastefulness and unequal distribution condition the current deep crisis,” he warned.
According to the diplomat, to such a challenging scenario should be added the criminal imposition of unilateral coercive measures, the promotion of fourth generation wars, disinformation, subversion for political purposes and other unacceptable practices that constitute serious violations of the UN Charter and International Law.
In this regard, he recalled the aggressions that Cuba has faced for more than six decades from the United States, which imposes an economic, commercial and financial blockade.
