Argentine government formalized measure on income tax

Buenos Aires, Sep 13 (Prensa Latina) The Argentine government today formalized the decision to increase to 1,770,000 pesos the minimum established for income tax collection, a measure that will be effective on October 1.

By means of decree 473/2023, published in the Official Gazette, President Alberto Fernández formalized the announcement made by the Minister of Economy, Sergio Massa, which is part of a group of initiatives to improve the purchasing power of workers.

Such amount is equivalent to four thousand 849 thousand dollars and only 80 thousand managers, company directors, privileged retirees or beneficiaries of high income companies will be left paying such tax, as recently stated the also candidate to head of State for Unión por la Patria.

The persons who will have to continue paying this tax are those who receive amounts higher than 15 minimum, vital and mobile salaries each month.

As Massa had informed, a bill was also submitted to Congress for wage earners to stop paying contributions for the income obtained as a result of their personal work.

Only those with higher gross income will do so.

The document will begin to be analyzed in committee tomorrow and could be debated in the Chamber of Deputies next week.
