According to the information, upon convening the event, the 6th Plenary Session of the PCC’s Central Committee agreed that the criteria and proposals to be submitted to the consideration of the delegates should be the result of a deep analysis done by the members of the political body and the Cuban Young Communist League (UJC), in a process which took place in July and August 2023.
Due to a high number of contributions made by the participants, experts and academicians in such meetings, the original date of the Conference was postponed so as to have more time to process the proposals in the Party’s measures to confront the blockade imposed by the United States and the unconventional war that affects Cuba.
The postponement of the Conference will also consolidate the debate and collective construction of the issues to be addressed at the meeting and determine the actions to be undertaken in a short term, the source stressed.
During these months, the organizational process leading up to the Conference will continue, including the election of delegates.
