The Deputy Information Minister Abdirahman Yusuf Al-adala stated the military operations against al-Shabaab members will carry on in the territory and other areas with the purpose of eliminating all members.

Al-adala further urged soldiers of the national army and local militias not to give up the fight.

As part of the government troops’ offensive against the insurgent group, Somali Army expelled al-Shabaab from the strategic city of El Garas, in the central state of Galmudug, which is described as a remarkable victory.

In both the central and southern Somali regions, military operations against al-Shabaab have recently intensified; thus, the terrorist group has suffered a great number of casualties and losses of logistics and weapons according to media outlets.
