“For 20 years, Mongolia has been an observer in the SCO, but we think that its observer status does not correspond to the potential opportunities provided by this organization, the deputy foreign minister told Sputnik on Tuesday.
So, we would be interested in elevating this status so that Mongolia can become a full-fledged SCO member, like other countries have been doing recently, the diplomat added.
He stressed that Mongolia was, is and will be a leading partner of Russia in the Asia-Pacific Region, and Moscow is optimistic about developing cooperation between the two countries.
The 8th Eastern Economic Forum is being held in Vladivostok, Russia, from September 10-13, 2023. This year’s theme is “Towards Cooperation, Peace, and Prosperity.”
The Roscongress Foundation, attached to the Office of the President of Russia, organized the forum.
