“Russia-China relations in the economic cooperation sphere have reached a very high level. Of course, all this is due to what has been achieved in the political sphere. Nevertheless, the results are more than good; they are excellent,” said Putin, who was quoted by TASS.
“We especially appreciate and assess that Chinese President Xi Jinping traveled to Russia on his first foreign visit after his re-election. It is a sign that our relations have reached a historic and unprecedented level in recent years,” the Russian head of State pointed out.
Putin noted that the volume of trade between the two countries increases every year, and this trend continued this year as well.
“The goal set by me and Chinese President Ji Xinping to reach a trade turnover of 200 billion dollars can be achieved this year,” stressed Putin, who expressed confidence that relations will continue to develop at this pace.
The 8th Eastern Economic Forum is taking place in the Russian city of Vladivostok from September 10-13, at which delegations from China and the Lao People’s Democratic Republic are attending as leading guests.
