“Both countries have special relations in many other areas, despite the fact that financial agreements are one of the main obstacles, but there are ways to solve these problems,” the president said, as reported on Tuesday by TASS news agency.
“Contacts also continue through military departments. I am sure that all this has good prospects for development,” the Russian leader stated.
Putin added that Russia and Laos are developing humanitarian ties, which include receiving young people from Laos to study at Russian universities, including those in the Far East, and training them as medical specialists.
Putin thanked Yathotou for his decision to attend the Economic Forum. “This is a good platform for establishing contacts with many partners in the world region and for holding meetings, contacts, negotiations with Russian colleagues,” the president concluded.
Delegations from China and the Lao People’s Democratic Republic are participating as special guests in the 8th Eastern Economic Forum in the Russian city of Vladivostok from September 10th to 13th.
