AMLO asked to be honorary president for solidarity network with Cuba

Mexico City, Sep 12 (Prensa Latina) The General Coordinator of the Latin American and Caribbean Continental Network of Solidarity with Cuba and Just Causes Norberto Champa on Tuesday proposed Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO) to be honorary president of such a movement.

Champa, invited to attend the presidential press conference at the National Palace, led by Mexico´s Interior Secretary Luisa María Alcalde, closed the session with his proposal.

The social leader supported and reaffirmed López Obrador’s call in Chile in his new call to lift the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States on Cuba for over 60 years, which precludes Cuba from progressing and seriously affects the Cuban people.

The coordinator of the solidarity network announced that, as a first mission, the organization intends to reach as many as one million signatures to call U.S. President Joe Biden to remove Cuba from the States Sponsoring Terrorism (SST) list in which Cuba is improperly and shamefully included.

He pointed out this is the fundamental proposal he brought to the press conference, in which he informed that his solidarity network decided to hold its first continental meeting in Mexico in 2025.
