The Secretariat of Public Education (SEP) explained that in the draft Expenditure Budget of the Federation for the last year of the six-year term, the federal Executive proposes to the Chamber of Deputies to allocate 19.3 percent of administrative spending to the educational sector.
It maintains the Benito Juárez Basic Education Scholarships for Well-being as priority programs, the amount of which is proposed to increase substantially and there is also an increase in the Benito Juárez Universal Scholarship for Higher Secondary Education Students. The Young People Writing the Future program, one of the administration’s priority strategies, has a slight increase, and the same in the budget project prepared by the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit, the School is Ours program, which will increase its resources.
The Benito Juárez García Universities for the Wellbeing program will also benefit, seeking to operate 200 educational facilities in high and very high marginalization communities.
In general, the federal government proposes an expansion in all programs subject to operating rules, which would go from 117,880 to 123,569 pesos (from 6.8 million dollars to 7.2).
