Scheduled for Tuesday in Sao Paulo, the surgeries will be performed by Dr. Antonio Macedo, Bolsonaro’s private physician.
Macedo is the same surgeon who operated on him when he was stabbed in September 2018 in Juiz de Fora, a municipality in the interior of the state of Minas Gerais (southeast), during the election campaign.
Bolsonaro has an intestinal subocclusion caused by the stabbing, an obstruction in which digested material does not pass normally through the membranous duct.
Since the attack, the former Army captain has been hospitalized and undergone eight surgeries. He was also diagnosed with Covid-19.
Now he will undergo surgeries, in the context of the rewarded informer agreement of Lieutenant Colonel Mauro Cid with the Federal Police, which would directly implicate him in the Arab jewelry scandal.
