We are betting on this event that Cuba will host to break the exclusivity that northern countries have over the means of technology, Minister of Finance Kinan Yagui, who will represent Syria at the Summit, stated.

At a meeting with Cuban Ambassador Luis Mariano Fernández Rodríguez, held before his departure for Cuba, the Minister said that the countries of the South have the right to have access to technology and they cannot continue to be consumer markets for the developed countries in this field.

The Cuban ambassador, in turn, assured that Havana completed all the logistical preparations to guarantee a successful participation of the delegations in the Summit, which will be held under the motto “Current Development Challenges: Role of Science, Technology and Innovation.”

During the meeting, the two parties highlighted the historic friendly relations and ways to strengthen cooperation.
