According to government authorities, the irregulars seized the Institute of Popular Culture in the municipality of Qamishli, in the northeastern province of Hasakeh, a few days after occupying the Arab Cultural Center in the same city.
Institute Director Fahed Al-Qatie noted that a number of militants stormed the headquarters and prohibited staff and visitors from entering the facility.
According to reports by Syrian authorities, the SDF militia seized government institutions and 2,106 schools in the areas under its control, causing a popular outrage.
The SDF occupies large areas in the Syrian region of al-Jazeera, which covers parts of the provinces of Deir Ezzor, Hasakeh and Raqa, and some areas in northeastern Aleppo, where they increase their separatist and criminal practices taking advantage of the support they receive from the Government of the United States.
