In the meeting, held at the Revolution Palace, the Cuban leader reaffirmed his government’s willingness to continue strengthening bilateral relations with Burundi in the political, diplomatic, partisan, economic, commercial and financial fields, as well as collaboration from a solidarity stance.
Diaz-Canel told Ndikuriyo that his visit is a prelude to the reception that will be given to Burundian President Évariste Ndayishimiye, who will attend the upcoming Group+China Summit to be held in Havana next week.
The Cuban president further referred to the organizations for the 8th meeting of solidarity with Cuba on the African continent against the blockade and extended the invitation to Burundi.
